The Data Centre

The Data Centre is equipped with direct fibre optic and DMR connectivity to all the major Telcos, as well as a direct link to the APE (Auckland Peering Exchange), uninterruptible power from multiple UPS systems and a diesel generator, 24 hour secuirty and climate control.

The Primary Server

The Primary Server runs our very own backup software. This server is housed in a secure and protected environment.

Our internet connectivity allows in excess of 22,500 backups to occure throughtout the day and night. We employ multiple hardware battery backed RAID 6 disk arrays with Hot Spares in place, giving full hard drive redundancy.

Our primary server system also features dual hot-swappable power supplies, dual CPU's, Spare Memory Banks and Dual, Hot Swappable Blowers, ensuring our service is continually online

The Replication Server

For added protection and system redundancy, our system replicates all backed up data on a secondary security server in a different New Zealand city. All data transferred between the two servers is done so in real time, and via a highly encrypted private secure SSL tunnel.

The Client Software

Our Client Software works exclusively with our Backup Server. Its role is to monitor file activity on the client system and at scheduled times throughtout the day, upload only the smallest of adjustments within changed files. All data is encrypted with 128-bit AES Military standard encryption and then transmitted via an exclusive SSL certified internet portal.

We actively choose to use 128-bit encryption instead of a high bit encryption to ease the use of the computer processor. Scientific calculation shows us that with the supercomputers of today, the 128-bit AES encryption would take approximately 49 trillion years to crack.
