We have two different editions of our backup software, one designed with workstations in mind, the other for servers.

Workstation Edition

Supported by Windows, Mac, Netware, Unix and Linux, Workstation Edition allows multiple backup sets to run many times throughout the day. It supports advanced backup options such as the mixing of incremental, differential and full file backups on certain days and/or under certain conditions, while offering a choice of difference encryption settings.

It has a built in ´offline first backup´ option, allowing the first backup to be done via a couriered CD/DVD or other external media device.

Server Edition

Our Server Edition is built on the top of the Workstation Edition. It supports hot backup and restores for server specific programs such as Microsoft Exchange with mailbox level backup and restore, Lotus Domino/Notes, MySQL, MS SQL and Oracle.

Configurable Security

Choose from 128 or 256-bit Twofish, Triple DES or AES encryption and ECB or CBC encryption modes. Bright Star PC does not have the ability to access any files backed up via its service

Continuous Data Protection

As soon as a file change is detected, the client software will wait until the CPU and Network Traffic is idle, then backup the changed file

Advanced Scheduling

Allows multiple backup sets using multiple schedules on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis. Also backup every x minutes and ´Continuous Data Protection´, with built in CPU and Network monitoring and utilization

Advanced Retention Policies

Keep snapshots of data on multiple time basis. Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annually

Green Backup Commands

´Backup then Shutdown´, ´Backup then Hibernate´, ´Backup then Standby´. Allows for backups after work hours while still turning off workstatons

Hot Backup/Restore for Server Specific Programs

Supporting Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Exchange mailbox level, individual email restore support; MS SQL, MySQL, Lotus Notes/Domion and Oracle
